Murphy Endorses Obama
“Senator Obama Will Unite This Country”
New Britain, CT – As Connecticut Democrats prepare to head to the polls on Tuesday to vote for the party’s next nominee for President, today Congressman Chris Murphy (CT-5) enthusiastically endorsed Senator Barack Obama.
“I am thrilled to be supporting Barack Obama for president. I truly believe that Senator Obama can be the antidote for the endemic cynicism and partisanship that plagues American democracy today. Barack Obama’s message lifts us up, and challenges Americans to look beyond what divides us and instead focus on our common values and aspirations. I’m proud to stand with him,” said Murphy.Murphy is planning a rally on Saturday, February 2 in Hartford with Congressman John Larson (CT-1). The event will be at the Old State House at 11am.
“I believe in Barack Obama’s vision for health care, energy reform, and economic empowerment, and he has the ability to heal old wounds, both here at home and abroad. He is a unique figure, and I know we are ready to embrace him,” said Murphy.
