Letter to the Editor
In 2006 I wrote supporting the election of Chris Murphy to Congress – because he wanted to go to Washington to help create some of the many
changes we needed.
Chris has started to do that, so now I am urging that we send Chris
back to Congress and to also elect Barack Obama President.
Both men have already worked for change. Barack Obama reached across
the aisle to work successfully with Republican Senators on a much
needed and very strong ethics bill, and. Chris Murphy did the same in
the House.
Chris has also worked hard on his two key committees, Oversight and
Government Reform and Financial Services, has visited Iraq, and just
recently played an important role in developing a far-reaching bill on
energy policy and getting bipartisan passage of it.
Some people were afraid that Washington might change Chris Murphy, but
that is definitely not the case. Chris is a real part of the movement
to make the many changes we still need, and sincerely believes we can
do so. His early endorsement of Barack Obama for president was because
he knows that Barack can and will be a president for change. We need
to give both of them the chance to do that – for us, our children, and
our grandchildren.
