Your editorial on the need to improve the nation’s rail infrastructure [June 18, “Let’s Clear The Tracks”] was missing some key movement on commuter rail in central Connecticut.
Congressman Chris Murphy has been working on this issue in Washington. He got an amendment passed to push Amtrak to cooperate with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, which wants to run more trains and build more stations between Springfield and New Haven.
Considering the traffic around the Hartford area, I thought The Courant would have noted this effort.
