Murphy led way on veterans bill

I am very proud that our Congressman Chris Murphy took the lead on correcting a very poor decision by the Veterans Administration to stop allowing nonpartisan voter registration drives at VA facilities.
Murphy rightly recognized that the right to vote is at the core of what our veterans risked their lives defending.
Working quickly against the looming deadline of adjournment, Congressman Murphy allied with fellow Democrats and reached across the aisle to enlist support from important Republicans to secure passage of legislation overturning the VA’s ruling.
This is a good example of our representative’s doing the right thing in a timely and cooperative manner.
Again, I am extremely pleased that our congressman played the key role in making government work, as it should.
