Now that the U.S. Air Force likely will rebid the contract for its refueling tankers, Connecticut’s defense industry may get a fair shot.
I was pleased to see Rep. Christopher S. Murphy, D-5th District, didn’t sit on the sidelines when the Air Force announced its curious decision to outsource defense work to a European- U.S. consortium. He met with those affected here in Connecticut and hauled the Air Force in for a meeting with the rest of our delegation in Washington to get answers.
Redoing this contract process is the fair decision, and for the good of our economy, I hope the contract lands right here in Connecticut.
