The town has received $628,800 from the federal government to improve a site off Town Line Road. The Environmental Protection Agency allocatĀed the money to Wolcottas part of its Fiscal Year 2008 Appropriations Act. The money will be used to repave cracked roads, install new drainage and improve the waterl ine, Mayor Thomas G. Dunn said. The grant was obtained after the town enlistĀed the help of U.S. Rep. Christopher S. Murphy, D-5th District. Dunn said the grant will raise property values in the area, which was removed from the EPA’s Superfund list of contaminated sites in 2005 and has become a center of industrial manufacturing activity.
