October 29, 2008Chris Murphy has done an outstanding job representing the fifth district throughout his first term. He has remained committed to the principles that help the struggling middle class, like providing energy assistance, expanding healthcare and making it affordable for all, and providing greater educational opportunities for our young people. He has also been extremely attentive to local concerns. I cannot remember the last time I saw a Congressional Representative taking the time to meet with constituents outside the local supermarket to truly listen and respond to their needs. It’s refreshing, personal, hands-on, and exactly the kind of leadership we need in Washington.
